What Are Your Plans for 2015?

Earth2014 was a great year for innovators, entrepreneurs, scientists and researchers and overall smart people like yourself.

It was a great year for scientific achievement, space exploration, increased manufacturing and medical marvels. But now it’s time to say goodbye to yesteryear and say hello to the future in 2015!

This year, we saw manufacturing jobs make a comeback in a big way. Thanks to the revolution in the energy sector, manufacturing jobs are increasing at a more rapid rate than we could have predicted. And it’s great to see more and more millennials getting involved in manufacturing as well. Could this be the career opportunity you’re looking for next year?

Or maybe 3D printing is your new hobby to build on. From houses built in 24 hours to recyclable plastic for printer “ink”, 2014 was an amazingly huge year for 3D printers everywhere. We’ve shown you stories about 3D printed food, 3D printed cars, even 3d printed human tissues and organs! Do you have what it takes to send 3D printers to the next level of innovation?

As cool as those innovations are, nothing compares to the historic year that the people at NASA have had in 2014. After sending their rover—Curiosity—to Mars, NASA landed a 310 million mile bulls-eye by landing the probe Philae on a comet! The pictures speak for themselves. And is if 2014 weren’t already a productive year in the universe, the company SpaceX has already made a huge name for themselves in innovation, including sending a 3D printer to the International Space Station! Are you as excited as we are to see what else is in store for future astronauts?

Of course, your interests might be closer to home, like teaching today’s youth about the benefits and excitement of STEM education. We’ve shown you stories of many kids taking their education to great heights, especially young girls. For instance, three young ladies won 2014’s Google Science Fair and these girls spent their summer vacations taking their STEM degrees to a whole new level of innovation. Who knows? Maybe it’ll be your next great idea that will inspire the next generation to follow in your footsteps.

We here at Dream It Do It Nebraska want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and we hope that whatever you choose to do in 2015, we hope that it’s inspirational and innovative. Let’s make 2015 even more historic and exciting than last year!
