At National Skills USA competition Nebraska takes home 10 medals

The SkillsUSA Championships were held in June in Kansas City, Mo. Of the nearly 6,000 participants, 185 high school and college students from Nebraska, along with advisors, attended. The result: Nebraska brought home 10 medals.

The competition is comprised of career and educational students from all 52 states and territories, all of whom were state/territory contest winners. The students competed in 94 occupational skill areas such as hands-on trade, technical and leadership fields. During competition, students work against the clock and against their fellow competitors to demonstrate their expertise in occupations like electronics, computer aided drafting (CAD) computer numerical control (CNC), and precision machining, welding and more.
